India’s textile exports are gaining momentum.
Textile exports grew 16.1% YoY to ₹29,776 Cr in August 2026, taking April – August exports to ₹1.43 lakh Cr, up 10.3% YoY.
More importantly, growth is not limited to one segment:
• Cotton textiles: +18.0%
• Man-made textiles: +13.6%
• Carpets: +11.9%
• Handicrafts: +44.0%
The breadth of growth across the textile value chain points to an expanding and increasingly diversified export opportunity for Indian manufacturing.
The sector remains an important contributor to manufacturing, employment and India’s overall export growth, as stated by http://pib.gov.in (source)
